Great Pace & A Podium Finish At Road America

No. 72 Krugspeed

This past weekend, Jaden Lander was back in action at Road America in the No. 72 Krugspeed with teammate Anthony Geraci. The weekend consisted of two 60-minute races around the historic 4-mile track in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin.

The weekend began well for Lander and the Krugspeed team in practice, with great pace right out of the box from their Toyota GR Supra GT4 EVO. The team also built on that great pace throughout the weekend as the track evolved into qualifying and the two races.

Saturday’s qualifying session was riddled with red flags resulting in the session being abandoned and a decision to use FP2 times to set the grid, which meant Lander and Geraci were starting second in class for both races.

Anthony Geraci started in the driver’s seat for the first race of the weekend, where he was able to make a few spots after putting together some great laps. Unfortunately, right before the team’s planned pitstop, he suffered a puncture, pushing the team back to 5th. Lander then made up ground after the switch and put the car into third for a podium finish in race one.

Race two started with Lander taking the first stint. Some bad luck with the car in front of Lander having problems on the start pushed him back a few spots on the grid. After a solid drive, Lander handed the car to Geraci in 4th position. During Geraci’s stint, some more bad luck struck when he got hit off-track, resulting in a 7th-place finish.

“I always love coming to Road America! It is one of my favorite tracks in the world, and the re-pavement over the winter really suited the Toyota Supra GT4 Evo well. We had a blistering pace this weekend but, unfortunately, did not get to show it in both of the races. A big thank you to the crew, Toyota, and everyone who makes this possible! Our next time out will be in Sebring, Florida.”
